Description
Hello,
I would like to propose a discussion about adding native support for the humans.txt file in WordPress.
This file, standardized and documented at humanstxt.org, is intended to include information about the people involved in building a website.
With the recent emergence of other initiatives, such as the llms.txt file, the topic is gaining renewed attention. I don’t have a strong opinion on llms.txt, but I believe humans.txt already made sense at the time it was introduced. Perhaps the time has come for WordPress to consider integrating it?
This file could include, for instance:
- The developers of the site or active theme,
- The site administrators,
- The developers of the plugins in use,
- Additional information on best practices or human credits related to the project.
This isn’t described exactly that way on the official site, but it seems to align with the spirit of the initiative.
To help start the discussion, one could imagine this file being generated automatically, or at least a space being provided for customizing it. Could the existing mechanism WordPress uses to dynamically generate files like .htaccess or robots.txt be reused for this purpose?
Thank you.
Love this idea, thanks for the proposal!
